Who Run The World? Egyptian Women's Holding of Public Jobs Higher than Global Average
Statistics show that percentages of women in public and leading jobs are on a rise.
It’s a woman's world: At the epicentre of implementing the National Strategy for Empowering Egyptian Women and the government’s vision for 2030, Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, declared that women hold 45% of public jobs in Egypt compared to the world average of 32%.
Over the past few years, plans have been put into order by the state to enhance financial inclusion, economic empowerment and representation in leading positions for women as part of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
It’s also been a good couple of years for the numbers. Women representation in the Egyptian parliament has increased staggeringly by 13% in the last 9 years, and women unemployment rates were at an all time low in 2018. Currently, there are 8 female ministers that make up 25% of the ministerial representation.
