Alexandria to Open Three Public Beaches Next Year

When Alexandria’s beaches reopened last May after a 13-month closure, one beach in particular saw a massive show out. Any guesses why? Because it was free - anyone could enter Mandara Beach without paying for the privilege. To replicate its success and spread the crowd out a little, Alexandria is opening two more free beaches.

The Central Administration of Tourism and Resorts in Alexandria announced that one of these beaches will be opened in central Alexandria, and the other will be opened in Agami in western Alexandria. The administration will carry out maintenance work on the three free beaches in the winter season, but will keep access open to those who want to fish.

Over the past few months, Mandara Beach developed an area dedicated to visitors with disabilities, with a concrete walkway that helps wheelchairs reach the sea and special assistance to smoothen out their beachside experience.
