Iran Loves Jews

Iran is the least anti-Semitic country in the Middle East according to a new survey. The poll by the Anti-Defamation League found that Iran (a sworn enemy of the state of Israel) has the lowest rate of anti-Jewish sentiment in the region. The state scored a worrying 56% which still makes it pretty anti-Semitic nonetheless.

Egypt, however, scored one of the highest rates of anti-Semitism in the world with a whopping 75% holding strong anti-Semetic views - that's 1% more than the regional average. The age group with the strongest anti-Semetic views were 35-49, while the 50+ demographic scored the lowest rate of anti-Jewish hate. Respondants were asked 11 questions about commonly held myths about the Jewish community.

The countries with the lowest rate of anti-semetic prejudice were Sweden, the USA and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, Libya (81%), Lebanon (78%) and Jordan (81%) also recorded high scores.

The regions with the lowest rates globally were the Americas and Asia.
