50 Cyclists from Around the World Make Their Way from The Giza Pyramids to Cape Town

The latest trans-continental Tour d’Afrique cycling journey has officially begun this last Sunday, the seventh of January, and will continue to run for 120 days through Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. Beginning from the Giza Pyramids and ending all the way over at Cape Town.

The expedition is held annually by TDA Global Cycling, a Toronto-based company, in collaboration with organisers Osama El-Haw and Mokhles Hassan in an effort to raise awareness about the benefits of cycling over other forms of transportation as well as fundraising activities, the rally also effectively promotes tourism in Egypt. 50 cyclists from several parts of the world including the US, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, and England will be participating this round, representing their respective countries and embarking on a unique journey through some of the most scenic and breath-taking parts of the world.

The rally will be guarded by Egypt’s Tourism Police Department under the watchful eye of vice director of the Tourism and Antiquities Police Department, Osama Al-Nawawi, making sure the cyclists are safe and sound as they take to their bikes and travel through Egypt’s southern borders.
