This Egyptian Fashion Label is Upping the Skirt Game with its SS19 Collection

On one gloomy London day, a few years back, an Egyptian woman by the name of Sawsan Khaled decided to pay a visit to The London Textile Fair, one of the biggest of its kind in Europe. On arriving, Sawsan found herself overwhelmed by the endless aisles stretched out before her, packed with hundreds of thousands of fabrics in every shape, texture and color her eyes could imagine. She also found a calling that day, one that would go on to kick-start her own fashion brand, Sorelle Skirts.

Sawsan had always had a passionate love affair with fashion, which is evident in every Sorelle skirt she designs. The brand has been striding through the fashion industry for three years now, most recently bringing us its 2019 Spring-Summer Collection, Neutrals Crush, which was shot by the internationally renowned Maison Mehany during Paris Fashion Week. The shoot, which took place in the streets of Paris, followed an eclectic and avant-garde direction, featuring Sorelle's above the knee skirts in layered zebra prints and nude shades of Tulle.

The skirts present a form of accessible drama that's accented by the edgy yet simple silhouettes that can easily work with your wardrobe, suiting whatever occasion or style you want to go for.

Sorrelle's deep affinity for high-quality, unique fabrics is just one of the factors that make these skirts standout.

"Every Sorelle Skirt we make has several fabrics from different parts of the world, from Greece to India, we always make sure we get always get the best materials," Sawsan told Cairoscene, elaborating that her future plans for the brand include building her own production process, so that Sorelle can become a fully autonomous brand.
