Red Bull #KiteTheWaj in Bahrain

Red Bull Kite The Waj is back and bigger than ever. For the very first time this adrenaline rush of a competition is heading to Bahrain. Taking place today at the beautiful Amwaj Islands, kitesurfers from all across the region will be bringing their bag of aerial tricks, to decide once and for all who is the very best amateur in the region.

16 teams of two riders each will compete head to head until the top 2 reach the grand finale. They will have to use body and mind to impress the judging panel in each of the four rounds.

Round 1: Air

Riders will be judged on air time

Round 2: Grab

Riders will be judged on grab tricks

Round 3: Spin

Riders will be judged on rotations

Round 4: Win

In this free-ride round, riders will have to impress the judges with their best tricks

Overseeing and judging the event is none other than renowned free style professional Kitesurfer, Ruben Lenten, who made a name for himself with his signature mega loop. Representing Egypt at the event are Hatem Walid and Sherif Abozeid, two amateurs from Ras Sudr with something to prove.

Kitesurfing is just as fun to watch as it is to do, and this Red Bull event is open and free to the public. If you are living Bahrain and looking to spend time on the beach this weekend in Bahrain, then we highly recommend attending, as Red Bull knows how to throw a party and guarantees this will be the hottest beach scene around.
