SODIC/Imagine Creates Alya Sorour’s Dream Home in the Forest

Curiosity about the creative process is second nature to Alya Sorour, Founder of That Really Cool Studio, a Zamalek-based exhibition space for artists and creatives. When she asked real estate developer SODIC’s AI engine, ‘SODIC/Imagine’, to dream up her ideal living space, the result is an ethereal home in the forest that reacts to her heartbeat.

Your visions can also take form by visiting SODIC/Imagine and typing in your dream home as a text-to-image prompt, where the AI will enable you to escape into its interpretation of your fantasy. So, how do you imagine living in the future? For Sorour, who transformed a charming Zamalek apartment into a creative hub in real life, the answer was nature. A call to get back to it and allow one’s lifestyle to be dictated by its unbreaking flows.

The visuals created by SODIC/Imagine spoke a natural vernacular, responding to Sorour’s outlook on the future of design, which adapts the way we used to build and live in the past, relying on nature and its materials to create comfortable living spaces.

Sorour imagined a house that connects to her, cools the temperature down after assessing her body or opens up to shower the space with daylight. According to Sorour, this connection to nature would change the way we live. Imagine entering the kitchen to find a meandering countertop that self-regulates its temperature, or a bed shaped after the undulations of a sand dune, all within an alcove in the forest. Imagine a house that actively caters to the human mind, body and soul.
