Sensai Lingerie Helps You Curate the Perfect Underwear Set

Peeking through your mother’s closet as a little girl at the tender age of ‘too young to be this mischievous’ always resulted in one of two scenarios. Either a wobbly strut across her bedroom in the most outlandish pair of heels you could find, or a dive into a shoebox-turned-lingerie capsule she’s deeply buried in the darkest crevice of her closet. The discovery, however, opens up more than just a tightly secured lid, au contraire, it inaugurates a whirlwind of discussions whereby you’re indoctrinated - perhaps unwillingly - on the family legacy that is ‘the ominous shoebox’. You’re greeted with the realisation that it was not solely your mum’s doing but a generational heirloom of lacy panties and red push up bras; reserved for the day you leave the comfort of your family home and blissfully trot into the arms of your one true love.

Hadeel Zahran, founder and CEO of Sensai Lingerie, is no stranger to that encounter. Her childhood was laced (pun intended) with introspective and open dialogues on what the intimate underwear signifies - a personal coming of self. “I wholeheartedly believe that lingerie is for you, and for whoever's wearing it. It should be flattering enough to boost your confidence,” Zahran tells SceneStyled. “Whenever I want to treat myself, I shop for lingerie sets, but I realised that since I already know how to sew, I should try making a set of two for myself using more unique fabrics.”

Hand crafted upon each order placed, Sensai offers women the liberty of feeling completely at one with their second skin adjacent underwear. Upon an online consultation with Zahran you’ll be able to express your needs and, in turn, meticulously curate the perfect set for you. “I found that it was a whole different experience making something for yourself and using specific measurements,” Zahran continues. “I got a lot of encouragement from friends and family to start my own brand and after about 1.5 years of working on trial pieces, I finally launched it.”

A long time coming, Sensai is still tentatively navigating the market, ensuring their empowering sentiments are not overridden with commercial connotations and cultural discontent. To shop Sensai’s sensual sets head to their website sensai-lingerie.com or dm then on Instagram @Sensai.lingerie.
