Thrift shopping has skyrocketed in popularity as an alternative to fast fashion, and following this global leap towards a fashionably sustainable future, local vintage store ‘Foster Home’ has opened its doors to help us curb our carbon footprint. In their fight to remain as eco-conscious and sustainable as possible, the store procures a collection of the founder’s coolest thrift shop finds for your consuming pleasure.
“Having always possessed an affinity for all things fashion and styling I started becoming more environmentally aware in the process, and that’s when I started thrifting,” Foster Home tells @SceneStyled. “The more I would thrift, the more I kept coming across pieces that were gems but they just weren't for me. So I would buy them in the hopes that it would find a home in someone else’s closet.”
Only a year and a half in the making, Foster Home has already managed to establish a niche in the local thrifting scene. “Each vintage and thrift store in Egypt has a specific niche that they work on,” they explain. “At Foster Home, each item is super unique. If you're buying this shirt then you're the only person who has it, you won't find five people in the club wearing it.”
