The Egyptian Orthodox Church Led Saudi Arabia’s First Mass

Saudi Arabia hosted its first Christmas mass on January 7th, according to the Egyptian Orthodox Church’s recent announcement. The mass was held after Bishop Morcos’s month-long visit to the Coptic community in Saudi Arabia, initiated by Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria. The mass was attended by Coptic Egyptians residing in the kingdom.

The celebration is a move towards including diverse communities visiting or residing in Saudi Arabia, amidst the kingdom’s evolving vision and cultural shift as part of its Saudi Vision 2030. The Kingdom's first church is also set to be built in their hyper futuristic USD 500 billion city, NEOM.
