The Clakett Film App Has Made it their Mission to Sanitize Cairo’s Sets

In cooperation with Tsebo Egypt, Clakett has taken to Cairo’s filming sets to sanitise and disinfect them to make the creative industry a little safer for everyone involved. Through a joint effort, Tsebo provides high-quality cleaning products and Clakett executes on the sanitisation operation.

“We know that crews didn’t stop shooting, and it’s very risky," Kamel Karam, founder and CEO of Clakett, told CairoScene. "Filming crews will never be less than 50 people, if not from 70-100 people so we came up with this solution so that we can help people stay safe while doing their jobs."

The initiative has already completed the disinfection of two sets, including one for Orange Egypt’s annual Ramadan ad, and has another three sets scheduled in their books. In addition to sanitising the filming area, Clakett also gives crew members medical masks and gloves, and they also make sure to take everyone's temperature before they can enter the set.

“We want to break down the barriers involved in the filmmaking process," Karam continued. "We want to make the film industry a better, safer environment. My aim with the Clakett app was to digitize the film industry and make a new, healthy ecosystem, and my aim with this sanitising initiative is the very same thing."
