Naguib Sawiris Donates USD 1 Million to Support Those Affected by Beirut Port Explosion

Following the devastating news of an explosion at the port of the Lebanese capital on Tuesday 4th August 2020 – killing at least 137 people and injuring at least 5000 others (according to BBC News as of 6th August 2020) – powerful figures, NGOs and charity organisations from across the world were seen coming together to support those affected by the incident. Most recently, Egyptian business mogul Naguib Sawiris donated USD 1 million to go towards citizens and residents impacted by the explosion.

Sawiris followed the news on his Twitter with various tweets expressing his support and solidarity with the Lebanese people at this difficult time.
