Mohamed Salah Makes Syrian Child Amputee’s Dream Come True

How do you console an eight year-old child who lost his leg to the ravages of war? It’s not a question that many can bare to face, but one that Mohamed Salah has at least attempted to with a heart-warming show of goodwill to a young Syrian fan.

Hamis Al Gacir and his family were caught in a spate of bombings in Idlib, Syria before escaping through Turkey and being fitted with a prosthetic leg. Young Hamis, a keen follower of Salah’s Liverpool, was blindsided by an unexpected gift from the footballer: a signed pair of his football boots, alongside a framed poster. Salah even sent a device that will allow the youngster to attach the boots to his prosthetic leg.

This is not the first time that Salah has made headlines in the UK for going the extra mile for his fans. In October 2018, the Nagrig native put a smile on another Syrian refugee child’s face, after visiting him in hospital in the US during a pre-season tour with Liverpool.
