In Stats: 100 Days of Genocide in Gaza

100 days. 

Over three months of genocide, unrelenting bombardment, targeted attacks and a military onslaught, 1% of Gaza’s 2.3 million population has been martyred. Since October 7th, this escalated genocide - broadcast live - has laid bare the assault on Palestinian culture, heritage, narrative and livelihood that has been ongoing for more than 75 years for the world to witness. 

In Gaza, 9 out of 10 people endure 24 hours without food. The genocide has displaced 1.9 million people due to the destruction of various institutions, including health facilities, schools, heritage sites, mosques and governmental administrative buildings. Journalists and media workers have been specifically targeted, with a minimum of 82 killed, 16 injured, three missing, and 25 arrested. 

Currently, one Gazan child is killed every 10 minutes…and these numbers will have risen by the time you see this post. 

- 23,843 Palestinians were killed, almost 1% of Gaza’s 2.3 million population.

- 60,317 people were injured, including 8,663 children and 6,327 women, as reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

- 8,000 individuals missing, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

- 9 out of 10 people in Gaza experience 24 hours or more without food, according to the World Food Programme.

- 1 million and 900 thousand people were displaced.

- 83 health institutions, 95 schools and universities, 200 heritage sites, 142 mosques, and 134 governmental institutions were demolished.

- At least 82 journalists were killed, 16 injured, 3 missing, and 25 arrested, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

- On average, one child is killed every 10 minutes, as reported by the World Health Organization (WHO).

- Over 65,000 tons of explosives were deployed onto civilian homes, roughly equivalent to three Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombs, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.
