Egypt to Build Fourth Terminal at Cairo International Airport

Egypt is to build a fourth terminal at Cairo International Airport in order to increase its capacity, reported several Egyptian media outlets today, including Ahram Online and Egypt Independent.

The Cairo Airport Company, the organisation that operates the airport, has completed all necessary studies required, according to Chairman Ahmed Fawzy, under directives from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, which estimates that the airport has reached 75% capacity this year.

In addition to easing the pressure currently on the existing three terminals, Fawzy revealed that there are also other projects in the pipeline, including upgrading services and efficiency, while Terminal One is to also receive upgrades, particularly to its baggage handling system.
