Building in 6th of October's Gezira Club to be Turned into COVID-19 Isolation Unit

As a result of the cooperation between Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population, Gezira Sporting Club and the Housing & Development Bank, a building in Gezira Club’s 6th October branch will be allocated and equipped to serve as a Coronavirus isolation unit. The building will host people who have minor cases of Coronavirus, where they can be monitored until they've recovered fully.

The Housing & Development Bank will provide the unit with medical supplies and devices. The building itself will be two floors, and can host 200 beds, with a CT Scan service, Wi-Fi and television screens available. Additionally, there will be proper disposal of hazardous waste and a comprehensive meal plan.

The building will also host a  team consisting of 110 people, including 60 doctors and nurses on-site, in addition to a team of security and cleaning personnel.

The isolation unit will begin accepting patients from Saturday, May 15th, until the pandemic subsides.
