Al-Ahly Scores Big With Universities of Canada in Egypt Partnership

Sports has long been a source of empowerment across communities; there’s nothing we love more than underdogs overcoming the odds, or champions showing us what makes them the best. Looking to afford members of one of Egypt’s biggest sports club with greater opportunities, Universities of Canada in Egypt (UofCanada) has signed on to become an exclusive educational partner and co-sponsor with Al-Ahly Sporting Club (ASC) for the next two years, starting from the 2023-2024 season.

“UofCanada is committed to providing the outstanding educational level that Al-Ahly members expect and deserve," Dr. Magdy El Kady, Chairman of the Board of Governors at UofCanada, tells CairoScene.

Helping Egyptian youth score goals on and off the field, UofCanada will provide ASC members with an array of exclusive educational benefits. ASC members will be offered the chance to get full academic scholarships and will have access to discounted enrollment in various faculties and majors offered at UofCanada's branches in the New Administrative Capital. ASC will also gain access to UofCanada's advanced media facilities, including studios, equipment and cameras.

“This partnership provides grants and discounts to Al-Ahly members, and we are currently exploring the possibility to include our fans too, given their significant role in shaping the club’s identity,” Captain Mahmoud El-Khatib, President of ASC, says.

As one of the universities hosted by UofCanada, the University of Prince Edward Island's Cairo campus offers Sustainable Design Engineering, a cutting-edge program that holds accreditation from the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) and licensing from the Supreme Council of Universities and the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
