Ahly and Zamalek Football Clubs Come Together to Support Families During the Coronavirus Quarantine

Recently the world is slowly awakening to the harsh reality that there may be more to life than football. We know, shocking. Having had current social-distancing procedures take away our enjoyment in watching 22 strangers kick a ball around, it seems that footballers are quickly coming to that realization as well. They can bring more joy to the world than a perfectly timed volley from 25 yards smack bang into the corner of the net! GOAL! Come on! Get in! Sorry, we miss it.

Anyways, Al Ahly star Waleed Soliman has announced on social media that he will be taking part in an initiative started by teammate Saad Samir where each player will be donating to and supporting 25 families during this time of need. Aside from other Al Ahly players such as Hossam Ashour and Sherif Ekramy, Zamalek stars such as Tarek Hamed and Mahmoud Alaa will be donating too. For rivals of the beautiful game to come together for this beautiful gesture when it matters most, well, it brings a tear to our eye.
