The Financial Regulatory Authority is launching an award to pull some of the spotlight on Egypt's distinguished businesswomen. And they're accepting nominations for their first edition!
You won't find too many social media posts celebrating the increasing empowerment of women in the non-banking financial sector. It's the kind of thing that's important, that represents how far things have come, and yet, it admittedly lacks the glamour that celebrities carry with them on the red carpet of an awards ceremony, the kind of name recognition that clickbait is made of. And so, the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) is launching an award to pull some of the spotlight on Egypt's distinguished businesswomen. What more, they're accepting nominations for their first edition!
If you know any inspiring businesswoman, you can submit your nomination by December 20th, 2020. The FRA are looking for Seniors, Executives, or Senior Executives to grant awards in the fields of Capital Market, Stock Exchange, Insurance, Real Estate, Financial Leading and Factoring, and Microfinancing. The nominees must have at least 15 years of experience, and submissions must come with a detailed report that demonstrates the nominees' dedication to her work and development of the field. The nominations will be presented to a special committee, who will interview the shortlisted nominees online by the end of December.
Through this award, the FRA hopes to achieve the 5th UN Sustainable Development Goal: to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. But of course this isn't all they've been doing. To put their efforts into context, the FRA helped put together a database of qualified businesswomen in order to help them gain the exposure they deserve and help fill leadership roles in companies that would otherwise miss them.
