Egyptian Actress Rosaline Elbay to Star in US Netflix Drama 'Jigsaw'

Egyptian actress Rosaline Elbay has joined the main cast of Netflix’s newest series, ‘Jigsaw’, a heist drama based on the USD 70 billion in bonds that went missing in New York’s downtown Manhattan when Hurricane Sandy struck the city in 2012.

Currently filming at Netflix Studios in Brooklyn, New York, Elbay will play Judy Goodwin, the heist crew’s headstrong and independent demolitions specialist characterised by her sarcastic edge and fierce temper. Set over 24 years and consisting of a non-linear plot delivered across 8 episodes, the Netflix drama will feature a diverse and international cast with actors like Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Paz Vega (All Roads Lead to Rome) and Rufus Sewell (A Knight’s Tale - “You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting”, SO good) joining Elbay onscreen.

Rosaline Elbay is best known internationally for her recurring role as Amani in Hulu’s American comedy-drama ‘Ramy’, where she plays love-interest and cousin to the show’s titular character. The award-winning series follows the spiritual journey of a first-generation American Muslim as he navigates life in his politically divided New Jersey hometown. In Egypt, Elbay is mostly recognised for her lead roles as Sara in MBC Masr’s ‘Qabeel’ and Lamia in ‘Luebet Al Nesyan’.
