Photos: Egypt's Pavilion at London's World Travel Market Proves a Head-Turner

If you're having a slow week, rest assured it's probably nothing like Egypt's Tourism Minister Rania al-Mashat's. After touching down in London on Sunday, Mashat took on a busy schedule as she meets with high-ranking officials, the likes of UK Tourism Minister, representatives of the world's leading tourism agencies, and, above all, launching the Egyptian pavilion at the World Travel Market, a leading global event for travel industry experts, officials, and investors.Egypt's pavilion at the World Travel Market has a habit of turning heads, evident in it winning the 2015 best booth design in that year's edition. Carrying on with the trailblazing, Rania al-Mashat  presented Egypt's last tourism endeavor to London's World Travel Market; VR tourism, a fully immersive virtual reality experience where guests got to see Egypt through carefully-curated VR experiences of some of the Red Sea's most stunning spots, the Sinai Trail, as well as a maquette of Egypt’s and the world's largest archaeological project, the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is set to open in 2020."The project to be showcased will be “Using cutting-edge technology to provide a fully immersive experience, Egypt’s pavilion at World Travel Market will provide visitors a glimpse of what the country has to offer to suit all tastes and budgets,” says Al-Mashat.Al-Mashat wasn't the only Egyptian hijacking spotlights at WTM, for the legendary Egyptian adventurer Omar Samra also made an appearance on the opening day, Monday, representing his adventure travel agency Wild Guanabana, and promoting adventure travel in Egypt.
