We’re going on a trip in our favourite rocket ship indeed, because Oman has started constructing the region’s first spaceport.

The First Space Port in the Middle East is Being Built in Oman

Oman will begin construction on the Middle East’s first space rocket launch facility this year.

The National Aerospace Services Company's Etlaq Space Launch Complex, situated in the port city of Duqm, may witness its maiden rocket launch as early as 2024. The centre as a whole, however, won't be finished for another three years.

With the Duqm launch site, Oman wants to establish a launch facility where commercial, professional, and educational rocket users may assemble, test, and launch their rockets. Private space businesses like Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin have already expressed interest in building spaceports in the Middle East.

Due to the possibility of using the launch pad for orbital launches, Oman’s plan will definitely play a key role in advancing the region's space programmes.
