France’s Centre Pompidou Will Develop Contemporary Art Museum in AlUla

The Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU) has signed an agreement with Centre Pompidou, France’s prestigious multicultural centre, to establish an art museum for regional and international artists in AlUla.

The agreement will establish a partnership between the two entities in regards to museum loans, curatorial partnerships, museological expertise and audience development.

The museum is set to be a home to a collection of diverse contemporary art and immersive installations by creators from across the globe. It will be structured as an archipelago of pavilions, with a mosaic of artists’ gardens showcasing a bridge between Arab and international artists.

The agreement is the latest in a growing list of partnerships to develop AlUla as the kingdom’s city of arts and culture, including partnerships with Canon, the Louvre, Misk Art Institute, and Deutsches Archäologisches Institut, amongst others.
