EgyptAir Operates First Biofuel Flight for COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh

Hours before the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference formally begins, EgyptAir operated its first flight to use Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to Sharm El Sheikh.

Powered by biofuel, the Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner took off from Paris’s Charles de Gaulle Airport directly to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, bringing a number of COP27 participants to the Red Sea resort town.

Over 40,000 people are expected to attend COP27, with hundreds of heads of states participating to join the global conversation on climate action and reiterate their commitment to international agreements to continue the fight against climate change.
