Europe's 5th Largest Airliner EasyJet Resumes Flights to Hurghada
On Sunday, the first EasyJet flight landed in Hurghada following a 3-year break.
Sunday marked the return of the British carrier EasyJet to Egypt, after a three year break. The flight came in from Milan, Italy.
EasyJet is a low-cost carrier that will be operating twice a week, taking passengers from Milan to Hurghada, and Hurghada to Milan; the flights' operations will be on Sundays and Wednesdays, according to the Egyptian Airports Company (EAC). EasyJet is Europe's fifth biggest airliner in number of passengers.
The low-cost aspect of the flights will encourage thousands of tourists from Italy to visit Hurghada's Red Sea, whether it's for holiday or sports.
EasyJet flights to Egypt's Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada were stopped in 2015 due to the Russian plane bombing. Flights to and from Russia – which were also suspended at one point – have also returned to Egypt last December.
