United Kingdom Removes Egypt from COVID-19 Red List

The United Kingdom will remove Egypt, along with seven other countries, from their 'red list' for travel, which was considered the mostly highly restrictive category in terms of COVID-19 safety measures. These countries will be moved to the 'amber list', which carries less strict restrictions for COVID-19 testing and quarantine.

Fully vaccinated travellers from the amber list will not need to undergo an 11-day mandatory quarantine at a hotel, but will still need to take two COVID-19 tests: one must be taken before within three days of departure from their country of origin, and the other must be taken shortly after arrival in England before the second day of their stay. If you are not fully vaccinated however you will need to be quarantined for 10 days at home or at the place you are staying, and will need to take a third COVID-19 test on or after the eighth day of your stay.

Egypt will be moved to the amber list on Wednesday, September 22nd. Travellers to the UK from Egypt before that date will still need to follow the red list rules.
