Air Arabia, the economic airline based in Sharjah, UAE, has announced new biweekly flights to and from Alexandria, Egypt and Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Starting October 31st, the flights will go directly between Alexandria’s Borg El Arab International Airport and Medina’s Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport.

Thanks to these trips, Alexandria’s population of 5.5 million people will soon be able to more easily access one of the two holiest cities in Islam without resorting to connecting flights through Cairo or elsewhere. The residents of Medina meanwhile will be able to vacation at Egypt’s north shore with minimal hassle.

The trips are currently available for booking, and are scheduled weekly on Mondays and Wednesday. Passengers can expect to fly on the Airbus A320, or the long-range Airbus A321neoLR.
