Sphinx International Airport Closed for Renovations Until September

The Sphinx International Airport in Giza will close for three months due to expansion operations to increase its passenger capacity. This will include renovations for the halls and the establishment of several new buildings for passengers.

The airport is scheduled to reopen in September 2021, in conjunction with the official unveiling of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The Sphinx International Airport is expected to receive visitors to the Grand Egyptian Museum, allowing them near-immediate access to the pyramids area. The airport will also serve Giza, Haram and 6th of October City, relieving pressure on the Cairo International Airport.
