Ministry of Tourism Launches New SMS Service for Tourists in Egypt

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has launched a new electronic service that tourists can access via text messages on their phones, in order to communicate directly with tourists in Egypt, and keep them up-to-date with safety notices.

The new service will work through mobile service providers in Egypt, which will send a text message to tourists upon their arrival at Egyptian airports, and notify them about the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities hotline. The hotline has several language options, and can provide the caller with the number for police and ambulance. ​​The hotline can also be used to submit inquiries, suggestions or complaints.

Tourists can access the hotline by dialling 19654.
