Luxor Receives First Charter Flight from Spain & France Since 2020

Luxor has just received the first charter flights from Madrid, Spain and Paris, France respectively since COVID-19 restrictions had shut down international travel in 2020. The plane from Madrid carried 114 tourists, while the Paris plane carried 178 tourists.

Upon their arrival, the Egyptian Tourism Authority showered the tourists with flowers, souvenirs and promotional material, with hopes that their arrival signals an eminent revival in pandemic-free tourism in Luxor. A charter flight between France and Luxor is scheduled to operate once a week until November 2021, while EgyptAir offers direct flights between Madrid and Luxor twice a week until October 2021.
