Jeddah’s The House Hotel is a Community-Centric Take on Boutique Stays

Solo business trips no longer need to feel so solitary with this brand new hotel just opened in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah city.

Dubbed Jeddah’s first community-centric boutique hotel, ‘The House Hotel’ is a meticulously modern development putting social connection at its heart. Its whole concept and design is geared towards facilitating a sociable atmosphere, making it a fitting addition to its surrounding, brand new commercial lifestyle destination, CityYard.

With purpose-built wooden staircases in the lobby doubling up as cosy multi-tier seating areas, the House Hotel presents itself as a hang-out where people can come together over drinks, chat with one another and maybe even make a new friend. Throughout the day, the hotel offers yoga, pilates and dance classes in its wellness space, as well as a fully equipped gymnasium to burn off those extra calories you’ll no doubt be accumulating from the food served downstairs.

Conceptualised by Michelin-honoured chef Jaume Puigdengolas, the culinary lineup will feature a fusion of European and Saudi Arabian delights across 12 different food outlets. Among them are anime culture inspired restobar Akiba Dori, French eatery Leclair de Genie Café, and Alsayed, one of the oldest fish restaurants in the kingdom. In the hotel itself, guests can head to the ground floor to indulge in a selection of healthy bites, organic fare and seasonal dishes at any time of the day with its 24-hour in-room dining restaurant, Baker & Spice.

Up on the roof, a private pool shaded by olive trees offers guests the perfect place to unwind and gaze out to fantastic views of the city. Rather be in the hustle and bustle yourself? The House Hotel offers a selection of local neighbourhood group activities including an art lovers’ tour, which takes visitors on a walk to all the surrounding art galleries.

While the hotel is the central focus for Jeddah's CityYard, the region is gearing up to become the port city's most vibrant communal hub. Food markets, pop-up retail stores and weekend organic markets are all set to take place in the community, as well as music and arts festivals for visitors and residents.
