Go On An Excursion through the Ancient Cities of Upper Egypt with Fire Up Trips

Now that the weather is finally cooling down, we couldn’t think of a better season to immerse yourself in the temples, valleys and intangible culture and heritage of dynamic cities of Sohag, Qena and Luxor from October 29th to November 1st.

You'll chill on an overnight stay in a Nile Cruise boat before going on a full tour of the National Museum of Sohag, which will take you through a journey of the rich histories of the ancient cities of Sohag, Abydos and Akhmim - the home to King Ramses II. The trip also offers an excursion to the recently-restored 5th century Coptic Red Monastery in Sohag, which has been likened to Turkey and Southern Italy’s Byzantine churches.

You’ll get the chance to explore the Abydos temple, widely considered one of the most pivotal religious hubs in the Ancient Egyptian Civilization and an entrance to the afterlife. The itinerary also includes the most well-preserved temple in Egypt, the Temple of Hathor, which is known for its vivid colours and intricate wall decorations.

Cut to Luxor, where you’ll be able to float over its beautiful fields in a hot air balloon at sunrise, with an ethereal view of the city’s temples. Once you come back to earth, you'll get to visit the Karnak temple, ride a felluca, and explore the West Bank’s ‘Valley of the Kings’ and the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut.
