Four & Five Star Hotels to Abide By New Minimum Rates
The nightly rates for five-star hotels can be no less than USD 40, while the nightly rate for four-star hotels must at least be USD 28.
Egypt has decreed that four and five star hotels must abide by a new minimum rate per night, in order to ensure that quality standards are adequately met, and that their services are not undersold.
According to the new decision, the nightly rates for five-star hotels can be no less than USD 40, while the nightly rate for four-star hotels must at least be USD 28.
The move comes in parallel with new procedures for re-evaluating hotel establishments in accordance with the classification standards for Hospitality Criteria. These were developed in partnership with the World Tourism Organisation, in order to raise the classification of Egyptian hotels to that of their international counterparts.
