First Warner Bros Hotel Opens in Abu Dhabi Next Month

For longer than most of us were ever even alive, they’ve delighted the world with cartoons, live-action films, cartoons with live action in them, and even theme parks - but now media and entertainment giant Warner Bro. is venturing into the hospitality business with their first hotel, and they’re opening its doors at Abu Dhabi’s booming Yas Island this November.

And you know what’s up, doc? It’s exactly what it sounds like. Neighbouring the Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi theme park, the Hilton-operated hotel boasts 257 rooms that are all decorated to immerse you in the utterly massive Warner Bros universe. You might think it’s all Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, but think about just how many of your favourite films and shows open or end with that big blue-and-gold ‘WB’ logo, and you’ll find it all right here. For example, have you ever dreamed you’d get the opportunity to dance in front of the fountain from the opening sequence of ‘Friends’, that sitcom we’re all still rewatching 17 years after it ended? Well dream no more. As the song says, it’ll be there for you.

Each of the 257 rooms draw inspiration from three different themes: ‘From Script to Screen’, showcasing important moments from WB’ shows and films; ‘Artist Confidential’, honouring the talent behind some of the most beloved productions; and ‘The Vault’, bringing rarely seen images from the company’s most memorable archives to light. The exterior of the hotel, meanwhile, is decorated with an elaborate display of digital screens spanning the full height of the eight story building, all showcasing a constant stream of iconic films and programmes. In short, it’s always rabbit season (or is it duck season? Let’s get back to you on that).

Guests are offered a fine repertoire of dining options, including Sidekicks, the Director’s Club, and the Overlook, a lounge that literally overlooks the entirety of the island and the rest of the Arabian Gulf. The hotel has a family pool area, a fitness centre with a spa, a children’s club, and ‘The Prop Shop’, where guests can get their hands on a small piece of Warner Bros history.

And besides all that, it’s the small touches that make the hotel utterly unique, from that old familiar tune played by the piano from Westworld, or having a child’s favourite Looney Tunes character on call for room service treats… all of which are delivered by Bugs Bunny himself!

Abu Dhabi has removed quarantine requirements for all fully vaccinated travelers as well as unvaccinated travelers arriving from a green listed country. Fully vaccinated travelers will still require a valid PCR test taken within 48 hours of arrival and retesting on select days depending on the arrival country.
