Direct Flights Between Sharm El Sheikh and Azerbaijan's Baku Resume

Direct flights between Baki, the capital of Azerbaijan, and the resort town of Sharm El Sheikh will resume as of Friday, March 25th, on a weekly basis.

The move serves as a reinforcement of Egyptian-Azeri bilateral relations, which have witnessed an improvement in the past few months including Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat’s visit to Baku in late February.

In 2019, there was regular tourist traffic from Baku to Sharm El Sheikh, with plans to double the amount of weekly flights from one to two in 2020. The flights were paused after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
