A Sneak Peek at Luxor's Stunning Sphinx Avenue Ahead of its Reopening

Following this year’s spectacular Pharaoh’s Golden Parade in Cairo, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has revealed that, soon, Luxor will host to its own celebration with the reopening of the Sphinx Avenue. Previously called the Rams Road or the Path of God, this narrow pathway connects the Karnak and Luxor Temples. At a length of 2,700 metres, the road was used in one of the most important celebrations of the Ancient Egyptian calendar, the Opet Feast, and there’s an incredible total of 1,200 ram statues lining the two sides of the road.

This teaser trailer released by the ministry offers a sneak peak into the restored site, though details on the event have yet to be announced.
