Made in Menoufia, designer Alaa Ahmed El Sheishtawy embroiders QR codes onto dress sleeves that connect wearers with resources about Egypt’s history.
Her smart dresses feature hand embroidery inspired by ancient Egypt, rich with all its best-loved motifs like the Eye of Ra, the symbol of Horus, and the key of life, amongst others. Nestled between them is a QR code linking to a webpage, which contains a guide to help tourists explore and plan their journeys to Egypt’s most iconic and unmissable tourist destinations.
The designer has gained international recognition, appearing on The Press of Atlantic City, Indian Express, News18, Daily Advent, and a few others.
