Lebanese Designer Geyanna Youness Drops Mystical New SS'23 Collection

Lebanese couturier Geyanna Youness has launched her third collection ‘The Enchanted’, and it’s her most ambitious and breathtaking yet.

Floral, sculptural, and whimsical, this new collection follows Geyanna’s artistic rhythm of bringing into reality the kinds of dresses we dreamed about as girls. Her designs are always vibrantly hyper-feminine, and appear as if plucked right out of a cosmic fairytale.

Something Youness triumphs at here is weaving a strong thread of unity through each piece, yet in attempting to place these looks somewhere specific in the realm of mystical inspiration, we find ourselves lost. Two visual motifs dominate the collection: petals and wings.

Fit for a Met Gala in space, it’s less earthy, tree-hugging fairy-core and more extraterrestrial-botanical-high-glam, although we’re not sure if that will catch on on Tiktok in quite the same way. Averaging out somewhere between butterfly and fairy wings, the placement of beaded (and sometimes tassel-bearing) wing earpieces introduce an elven dimension to the ensembles.

Accompanying the drop is a mesmerising campaign film. Walking amid a vivid orange and pink sky, the models flaunt the airy, sensual designs, and Youness follows the couture tradition of rounding off the surreal show with a bridal look with a stunning gown which marries botanical and superhuman beauty.
