Borderline is the Egyptian Label Serving Sultry Haute Girl Aesthetics

Desperate times call for desperate measures. The desperate times interpolated here are not the dire political kind, au contraire, dear readers, these moments are far more grim. They actualise themselves in a series of pale purple sweaters, skinny jeans and, dare we even say, Air Force Ones. When it comes to BGS (Basic Girl Syndrome) no one is safe. The white sneaker chokehold is far too irresistible and pastel knits will always crawl their way into our closets regardless of how many harnesses and corsets we sprinkle in its crevices. The only means to truly circumvent this chronic condition is to allow oneself to experiment with pin striped anything and hope leather tops can mold a haute girl identity on our behalf.

Cutting through the haze of white girl autumn is Borderline - an Egyptian label crafting avant garde garments and edgy closet staples. Boasting sultry (some might even say a little scandalous) shibari tops and lace corsets lined with metal zippers, Borderline’s approach to fashion is polarizing. Embodied in diagonal pinstripes and high-rise cutouts, the pieces they create innately push garment creation to its fullest logical extent. What happens when trousers are re-imagined to encompass much more than straight cut silhouettes? And what happens when corporate wear includes double breasted blazers and detachable poncho-adjacent vests?
