The melody-driven four-track EP from the unique duo is made for kicking back with this summer.
Another sweet record from Maii and Zeid; a one of a kind Arabic Indie Pop number from Alexandrian singer, songwriter and guitarist Maii Waleed and Lebanese underground producer Zeid Hamdan, from Zeid and the Wings fame. Together they've created the recently released, minimal four-track EP Ezaal, incorporating exquisite melodies, subtle beats and introspective lyrics. Maii sings the way she speaks, with a slang approach to romanticism, and never fails to use her imagination and witty sense of humour.
Meanwhile Zeid’s skill and creativity production-wise and on the instruments remain apparent, merging perfectly with Maii’s ethereal energy without imposing on the day-dreamy aura that surrounds their collective product. Plug this record in while relaxing on a beach somewhere, walking through a park or do as little as lay in bed and stare at the wall. It’s probably not the best idea to play it while driving a car though, unless you’re already wound up and looking to relax.
