Saudi’s MSYLMA & Egypt’s ISMAEL Announce New Album with Single Release

After the success of 2019 album, Dhil-un Taht Shajarat Al-Zaqum, enigmatic Saudi Arabian musician MSYLMA has teased a new album, The Tenets of Forgetting, in collaboration with Egyptian producer, ISMAEL, with the release of ‘The Follower’s Path’, the album’s first single.

The singer and producer, whose identity is little-known, stapled his name among experimental enthusiasts with a debut album that fused pre-Islamic poetry with eerie ethereal vocals, drums, and melodies.From the ‘Kairo is Koming’ collective of electronic musicians, ISMAEL's touch is evident in its heavy percussion and soaring synthesisers that give an intense air to the single, complementing MSYLMA's vocals. Discussing issues of romance and vulnerability, the song’s subject matter reflects on growth, change, and passion using complicated rhythmic and poetic structures.

The duo are also joined by Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Omar El-Sadek aiding with their production experience, with Nariman Youssef translating the lyrics.

The anticipated album is set to be released on 27th September, 2021, so stay tuned.
