Red Bull Egypt Announce 'Mat El Kalam' Freestyle Rap Tournament

Do you think you have what it takes to be Red Bull Egypt’s next ‘Red Bull Mat El Kalam’ freestyle champion?

With influential rappers such as Abo El Anwar, and Ahmed Santa on the judging committee, and with beloved trailblazing rapper Abyusif hosting the event, this could be the chance you’ve been waiting for to prove your lyrical talent and showcase your clever wordplay to some of the very best bar-droppers in the game.

Last year, Mahmoud Hussein’s quick thinking and impeccable delivery earned him the title of ‘Res Bull Mat El Kalam’ champion, but this year, the competition is bound to be fierce, as Red Bull assembles not only a star-studded list of judges, but also brings in beloved Egyptian rap crew Maadi Town Mafia to provide beats for contestants during the event.

Contestants who make it through to the competition will be given words at random which they will have to incorporate into their freestyles live, adding a twist of unpredictability to the tournament.

Record a video of you freestyling using the Red Bull ‘Mat El Kalam’ audio by Maadi Town Mafia

Upload it and use the hashtag #redbullmatelkalam and tag @redbullegypt.

Judges will choose the top 16 freestyles to compete in the event.

‘Res Bull Mat El Kalam’ will take place on the 29th of September, and in addition to the freestyle tournament, you can expect to see performances from Abyusif, Abo El Anwar and Ahmed Santa during the night, who are all seasoned freestylers in their own right. Maadi Town Mafia’s Husayn will also be playing a closing set, in which he will be joined by the judges to bring an electrifying end to the event.
