Similar to his 2020 album Love Was the Reason, Elko stays true to his punk-pop sound as he reflects on letting a relationship fall apart.
Released at the end of April, the track and video - produced and edited by John Buchanan - are gaining big love online, and with good reason. With lyrics about fights, a sense of destruction, and the addiction of the relationship, the song hits a sore spot for all of us who have been burnt by the flame of a toxic love. Released under the Soul Serum label, the single makes Elko the first international artist to be premiered by the Ohio-based production house.
