Canada-based Egyptian Rapper Mazyn Releases New Single ‘Ala Fain’

Arab rappers who live abroad often face more challenges in getting their music out there. They either live in a country that does not speak their mother tongue – or they move back to their home country and are alienated due to not speaking or performing in their mother tongue.

With that being said, the best talents don’t stay unnoticed for long regardless of the language barriers they face. This is the case with Canada-based Egyptian rapper Mazyn, who’s having his music well heard and appreciated even living abroad. His latest single ‘Ala Fain’ is proof of this.

When someone’s talents are exceptional, they’re labeled as being “out of this world” – their abilities are inhuman, akin to an unknown life form, an ‘alien’ – and that’s exactly what the rapper compares himself to.

Mazyn opts for an artwork that reflects his bars, demonstrating him being dropped off to Earth by a UFO. Mazyn kicks off the single with a bar of “fresh out of space” and “dropping heat even if it’s in another language”. This is just Mazyn’s own way of flaunting his musical prowess subtly. He also discussed the issue of how rappers living abroad get discredited just because they don’t face what locals face, but he refutes that by expressing his musical talents and establishing that he is Egyptian, regardless of where he lives.

Produced by Bloooom, the instrumental is a spaced-out trap beat, leaving space for the vocals to breathe within the mix, making the use of an airy-pad as the lead melody, layered with a siren in some segments of the song.
