The fourth edition of the Narrative Summit is taking place on November 4th, where roster of innovative minds from a range of different fields are set to come together to discuss the opportunities and obstacles that Egypt, as a nation, faces in rebuilding image and brand on an international stage. Taking place during the Arab League's Arab Sustainable Development Week, this edition of the summit will take a stand, crossing nation-branding with sustainability and showing how one is essential to the other. Here to lead the way are nine speakers who are set to bring their experience and talent to a a complex and forever evolving conversation that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

GORDON TREDGOLD // BUSINESS SPEAKER, COACH AND CONSULTANT

Gordon Tredgold is an international business speaker, coach and consultant. Known for his ability in senior leadership positions and his capacity for effective turnarounds, Tredgold has proven his reputation over the course of his 25-year career through his work with Fortune 100 companies across three continents, including Barclays, London Electric, Barclaycard, TUI, Kreditbank, Euro Container Terminals Rotterdam, DHL, and Henkel. Tredgold now serves as a mentor by speaking, writing and consulting on the challenges and virtues of leadership, which earned him a spot on the Global Gurus Top 30 Leadership Professionals for 2019 list. He has written 3 books and over 1300 articles, and he contributes to Entrepreneur, Inc Magazine, Forbes, Business Insider, Fortune, and Addicted 2Success. He is also a visiting professor at Staffordshire University in the UK.

HALA EL SAEED // EGYPT'S MINISTER OF PLANNING, MONITORING AND ADMINISTRATIVE REFORM

Dr. Hala El Saeed is the Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform, as well as a prominent Egyptian economist and a renowned academic author. After receiving her PhD in Economics in 1989 with the highest honours from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, Dr. El Saeed forged a career in banking as the Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute for 8 years, an advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, as well as a board member of the Arab African International Bank. Dr. El Saeed currently brings her experience and esteem to task by leading the way towards institutional and administrative reform while doing her part to craft Egypt’s vision for 2030.

SALAH HASSAN // PROFESSOR OF BRAND MANAGEMENT, GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

Salah Hassan is a Professor of Brand Management at George Washington University. As a pioneer in branding strategy, Dr. Hassan has been called upon by clients to guide them through creative processes and lead them towards sustainable market growth. His success has lent him a reputation that brings weight to his words and developed a demand for him to speak at prestigious organizations, including the US Department of State, the Smithsonian Institute, The World Bank, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. Dr. Hassan has co-authored a Pearson-published book titled Marketing Management: Arab World Edition.

SARAH GALLO // DESTINATION MARKETER AND TRAVEL EXPERT

Sarah Gallo, aka The Five Foot Traveller, is a Destination Marketer and Travel Expert. With an infectious enthusiasm for travel, Gallo works with leading companies, hospitality brands and national tourism boards to help increase their brand awareness and to promote their travel services and destinations. Her passion for travel empowers her work - she travelled 113 countries on all seven continents, where she polar plunged in Antartica, road tripped through Mongolia, and trekked to see gorillas in Uganda. Gallo's ultimate goal is to spread the love of travel in others and lead them to discover the many amazing destinations the world has to offer.

THURAYA ISMAIL // EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, MENTOR ARABIA

Thuraya Ismail is the Executive Director at the Mentor Arabia Foundation. After earning her MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics, Ismail began a 17-year career in human and social development, where she set a powerful example by focusing on children and youth empowerment.  Before arriving at the Mentor Arabia Foundation, Ismail promoted the welfare of children at the United Nations Development Programme and the League of Arab States. Her accomplishments led her to become the first Arab specialist to earn the European Union's 'Leading Practitioner Honour' award. Ismail has since released several publications in the fields of social development, international affairs and youth empowerment.

NADINE ABDEL GHAFFAR // FOUNDER, ART D'EGYPTE

 

Nadine Abdel Ghaffar is the founder of Art D’Égypte and a woman of many talents. Her dedication to the arts led her to pursue an education in art curation at the Central Saint Martin's School of Art in London. From there, she was able to spread her passion by organizing exhibitions in Egypt and the UAE to promote Egyptian artists. Abdel Ghaffar's experience and commitment to the promotion of Egyptian art allowed her to establish Art D’Égypte, an art consultancy which promotes Egyptian art locally and internationally. Art D’Égypte is most famous for its ambitious annual exhibitions of contemporary art, which they host at historical locations such as the Egyptian Museum and the Manial Palace. This year, Art D’Égypte is hosting their exhibition in al-Mu'iz Street, bringing visibility to this legendary tourist destination.
