 Adrère Amellal Desert Ecolodge, Siwa

This eco lodge in all it’s primitiveness is a welcome break from the city’s hustle and bustle. With no electricity, it immerses its guests' in Siwa’s breathtaking scenery. Adrere Amellal is equipped with a pool, barbecue facilities and simplistic rooms made of stone. Lit by torches and candles, the lodge gives us a feel of what it must’ve been like before we were so plugged in to our electronics. Attractions to visit nearby include Cleopatra’s pool, Shali fortress and Gabal El Mawata.

Alf Leila Boutique Hotel, Dahab
