Cairo's First Bike Park Just Opened and it Looks Awesome

Following the establishment of the Middle East's longest bike lane along the Cairo-Sokhna Desert Road in January 2018, biking-enthusiasts in Egypt (we know you're out there) have another reason to be pleased, after the opening of the country's first dedicated bike park.

Located at Future City (Madinet El Mostakbal) on the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road, the parks sits across 210 acres, with bike trails stretching 3km long. Said trails - which includes a dedicated BMX trail for the more extreme cyclist - are surrounded green spaces, perfect for a picnic or extended sessions of gazing wistfully into the sky. In addition to offering bike rentals (EGP 20-30 per hour), the park, which is divided into 4 areas that are connected with bridges and tunnels, also houses a range of different facilities, including restaurants, cafes, toilets and even a mosque.

The entry fee is EGP 15, except for Fridays when it's EGP 20, while bringing your own bike costs an additional EGP 10. The park opens at 10AM and closes at 10PM (1AM during Ramadan). You can find out more Bike Park's official Facebook page.
