Win a Bike With the Ministry of Environment's New Monthly Contest

Well-known for its car-centric economy and traffic-snarled roads, Cairo’s government is looking to deal with its congestion problem, and what better way to unclog the city’s tunnels than to introduce more biking options? Ahead of the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Cairo’s leading ministers have agreed upon a new initiative - ‘Our Health is the Health of Our Planet’ - which hopes to put more bicycles in people’s hands.

Through a monthly national competition, you could become the owner of a brand spanking new bike. The competition is plain and simple: tune into the ministry’s website and submit your answer to their monthly question. They’ll then compile the data and eventually pick 100 lucky winners to receive a bike.

The ministry’s goal is to achieve environmental awareness of climate change issues, and with Egypt being home to Africa’s largest crowd of vehicles - with almost six million vehicles on the country’s roads according to African Business -  the introduction of this new initiative is ultimately one step closer to diminishing our national Co2 emissions.
