Now, wallpaper is by no means a common find in around Egypt's newer homes, but one local brand is looking to revive an element of home decor that has seemingly been long forgotten.

Launching just earlier this year, Wally’s Wallpapers by designer Fadwa Attia offers customised designs and prints, as well more out-of-the-box patterns for your walls. The startup works with interior design firms on collaborations to give you exactly what you need.

As an artist and entrepreneur, Attia decided to step into the game when she couldn’t find wallpaper to fit her space or colors that were the right tones while furnishing her own home. Using her experience in art direction and hunting down the right raw materials abroad to print on, she hot the ground-running once all the pieces of the puzzle came together, with her latest collection being tropical-inspired.

Looking to nature for colors, designs and backdrops, her newest collection is also inspired by deco art. A Little Wally’s collection for kids is set to launch soon, too, as well as a physical store by the end of this year.

With partnerships and collaborations with firms like DS Design Studio, Novelty Design Studio, Hany Saad Innovation and on Blend Furniture’s Downtown Katameya store walls, she’s helped decorate walls in homes in Mansoura, Alexandria, Tanta, Sharkeya, Kafr El Sheikh, Minya, Luxor, Zagazig and Egypt’s North Coast. She also ships worldwide and has sent her wallpapers to the US, UK, Italy, Dubai and Australia.
