Two Brothers in Matrouh Are Turning Heads with Jet Ski 'Water Car'

You can expect just about anything to happen at the northern coasts of Matrouh. But somehow, this amphibious car casually cruising through the Mediterranean still caught us by surprise.

This water-savvy “car” is actually no car at all. It is a jet ski fashioned with a fiberglass car-shaped body designed by two Matrouh brothers, Karim and Hussein Amin. These brothers own a car accessories shop in Marsa Matrouh and are hoping to make a splash with more eye-capturing innovations to attract water sports enthusiasts to the beaches of their coastal city. 

Marsa Matrouh is a hotspot for watersports during the summer season and the main source of income for many of the locals there.

This fiberglass car-shaped water ski costs EGP 250,000 and is the first of many water sport hybrids the brothers are creating this summer. Their plans include new variants of the banana boat, peddle boat, sailboat and even a yacht. A car-shaped floating yacht? Maybe this IS the future.
